Americans have historically been a courageous people with an unbreakable gift of embracing boldness and unapologetically defending their beliefs.
Boldness is not defined by an obnoxious or argumentative tone. Boldness can be tame and strategically thought through. Boldness does not waver to fear. A bold voice can acknowledge anticipated danger and continue to speak known truths regardless of consequences.
As each day passes, it becomes increasingly difficult to speak on some of our most valued truths, so do not let another day pass complacently sitting on the sidelines. For when your children grow up and wish to speak their truths, their opportunity may be far less than yours is today.
Threats to freedom have paved the way for bold and courageous new leaders. Our country is starving for those who risk their treasures in this battle for what is good and right.
Families reliant on two incomes have pulled their children from the public education system and found a way to get by. Citizens have sacrificed their free time to stand and speak at local public meetings. Students have fought against vaccine requirements on their campuses, some at the expense of an education they had worked tirelessly for. Members of our armed services have voiced their concerns about this current push toward hiring based on diversity over skill set. The sacrifices made today aren’t for nothing, our current sacrifices are for everything.
The United States is spiraling downward from its previously lead on the world’s stage, so this is not the time for good people to keep silent.
The problem today is that too many of us want to win without making heartfelt sacrifices. We want our children and grandchildren to experience the freedoms we’ve grown akin to, but we don’t want to ruffle any feathers.
Historically and biblically, bringing truth to light has required boldness. Peter and John were imprisoned, Paul and Steven were stoned, and Christ Himself was crucified for the offense created in speaking the truth.
Standing strong and speaking truth may upset people, but that does not mean the message is misguided. Imagine if pastors in the early church were coached into stifling their message, or omitting points in the controversy to reach a larger audience or avoid imprisonment. “Hey John and Peter, it would be politically correct to avoid certain topics and keep from offending your followers.”
Boldness springs from deep set beliefs and a strong community will flourish when bold leaders not only express their true beliefs, but when those beliefs are allowed to be challenged without fear.
In a world gone crazy, it becomes increasingly important to encourage boldness and truth - even in the face of opposition. Spineless and submissive leaders can no longer be tolerated. This is the time for society to stand up and support honest, ethical, brave, and confident leaders who will take risks for truths. Leaders who can withstand pain to realize their purpose need the support of their communities.
Is it hard to fight for freedom, hell yes! But the more freedoms ripped from our lives, the less meaningful our lives will be. We must not allow future generations to endure the pain of today’s cowards.
Recent generations of Americans have grown up privileged and forgotten the struggle our founders went through.
I’m not asking you to go to war, I am asking you to acknowledge that our country is already at war. You don’t need to join the military to defend your nation’s republic, you need to look within your thirty-mile radius and figure out how best you can serve your community.
Don’t wake up this November 6th, 2024 wishing you had done more. The time is now to stand up, step up, and speak!
