I have a friend who in 1972 was convicted of possession of marijuana (just for personal use he was not a dealer, grower or trafficker). He spent a short time in jail but has a felony on his record. This was the one and only time he was ever arrested. Because of the record, he can not vote. I think he could have appealed that in more recent years, but became so pissed about government he decided to never participate even if he could. I don't think his story is uncommon. This story is just the light end of the injustice Peter Navarro is relaying. How many people that should have rehabilitated feel the same?
Anything and I mean, anything run by the Gov is beyond inefficient and in most cases corrupt for the betterment of those in charge, not We the People. Congress is the ultimate example of inefficiency and corruption!

It has come to the point where you can pick just about any federal institution in any branch of government and briefly research their endeavors only to find that someone at the top or close to the top of totum poles are corrupted to the core for financial gain OR compromised by blackmail/extortion. The great thing about DJT and the Biden administration is that the two of them have (unintentionally) conspired to create the greatest eye-opening in the history of civilization. I've read that prosecutors can structure plea bargains in such a lopsided fashion that it becomes logical for even an innocent person to plead guilty. (For example, a lopsided plea deal would be offering the accused a choice between pleading guilty and being released with "time served" vs. pleading innocent and facing a possible additional 20 years in prison.) In this circumstance, a rational innocent person might well plead guilty. If this is really going on now, it should be illegal. Proffers of plea deals should be in writing and subject to judicial review.
It’s all about the quid. Prisons get federal moneys to house the criminals or the innocent unfairly judged. The longer they stay in the system the more federal compensation comes to the institution . Our leaders have sold us out on every front. Four years ago we were shown the ugly head of the snake with Covid! They put out the pathogen , all the while just wanting you to get in line for the cure! The cure was the population decimation. The WEF was voicing their agenda for over a decade and still nobody took them serious. Now look what they are saying. MRNA is the new shinny diamond that is going to cure the cancers of the world! Wait a minute, was it not the last cure that sent turbo cancers soaring. Oh yeah that’s right , they have a cure for that, get in line.
Back to the topic , The Bureau of Prisons is no more then or less then a Mafia. Once a person is an inmate/prisoner they are no longer anything other then a product of financial incentive. IMO of course

Thank you for this article. Nobody as any idea this is going on. Each year in prison reduces life expectancy of an inmate by four years. The human impact of incarceration nation is far worse than even the COVID lockdowns.
Any chance a newly elected President Trump can commute all non-violent sentences to time served and get millions of people out of this Byzantine hell scape?
