China has been fed at the breasts of USA businesses, investors, and consumers. This baby is all grown up now. It's time for China to go out into the world without its economic parents' supports. And, it's time for the USA to launch a new Era of USA businesses that are America First! And, President Trump will lead the way!

Great. Tell him to start with making several Made In USA computers. MAGA alone would keep them in business.

Greed my friend, is always the downfall of those that choose it. You can be a billionaire made by China, but you can’t take it after death.

Spot on. Economic security is national security. Only Trump seems to get this. The issue is that the tyrants who drive most of the American economic output are globalists with no real ties to America. Their loyalty is to their pocket book not their fellow citizens or their nation. Many of them think we - the peons- deserve what is happening to us. A pox on all their houses.

China isn't only stealing the big stuff, they steal the little stuff from abroad, like art and jewelry designs, anything popular on social media will become China's product on Temu at a fraction of the cost. And the vast majority of the artists they are stealing from don't have the means to stop them. And people buying Temu are blind to the destruction they help cause..

Temu should be banned from X. It’s linked to TikTok and is a threat to our personal identity. They advertise all over X and my husband found this out a couple of days ago before he bought a cute cap for a friend. No! Stop buying from China! Check labels and where the things you wish to buy are made. Cheap has to take a back seat or just don’t buy it if you can’t afford the made in USA version.

There are many bonafide sources that show Temu is directly owned and operated by the CCP, and half again as many proving stolen artistry. My cousin is a leather work artist, makes some of the most beautiful bridles, horse tack, wallets, belts, etc and doesn't show much of it on social media because a friend of his, who is a jewelry artist, a lot of original silver and turquoise, had her designs stolen (from social media which is how she sells) and Temu is selling replicas of her art now at a fraction of the cost. There isn't a thing she can do about it because she isn't wealthy enough for lawyers to get involved. There have been a few cases won against Temu, meaning they agreed to remove the item, but most can't afford the fight.

I don't think, at this point, the US can ever not buy from China. Who can afford $150 toaster from the US when China sells it for $15? or $40 undershirts when China sells them 10 for $10? Increase wages so the US can buy more American? And with minimum wage increasing ridiculously it's only going to get more expensive to buy US made (that's a whole other topic!) However it CAN be regulated (and was to various degrees before this administration) and in my opinion is one of the things that should be.

Unfortunately, current "leadership" makes a lot of money off China. Just ask Hunter or maybe Swalwell. 🙄

Truth! I’ve been buying clothes made in India and Vietnam when I can’t find items made here. There are other countries, though not nearly as rampant, besides China involved in our supply chains. Peter Navarro and Trump had started to turn the tide back to made in the USA, then COVID hit and the current owned-by-China regime took over and we’re back to square one. We need Trump and we need the likes of Peter Navarro with his trade expertise.

From 1984 through 1995 I did wholesale trade shows with my jewelry line (I made it all myself with sometimes hiring other local artists to help in the production). I mainly did the Wendy Rosen (Buyers Market of American Craft) shows in Philadelphia. but also some others in Boston, Chicago, and one in Honolulu. After each show I would be deluged with mail telling me how they could make mine in China for me! Just NO!

Now China just looks at what is popular with suicidal media (that was an autocorrect typo but I think I'll leave it) and Temu starts putting it out for $1.87 😡☹️

Apple has had a decade to move its factories to other counties. No sympathy for them or Tesla. It certainly could see what China intended. The Blackrock, State Street, Vanguard co linked companies should also have seen this, what with all their AI trading computers and all. Did they just not put the China threat scenarios into their AI programing and the executives were just too in love/lust of the Chinese population slavery model to see clearly. So, of course, we should completely economically decouple and dis-invest from China. And those companies who have invested American citizen's money in China needs to pull it all out, and where China won't pay back, those companies need to make the American citizens whole if it takes every dollar they have on a personal level right down to their homes and pensions and wives and mistresses jewelry. It will take a lot of time to make the USA back into the manufacturing powerhouse it once was, but I see it as the only path forward.

Agree but the Apple part is difficult. I am never going back to a “Microsoft” machine. There are no Made in USA computers. Better I suppose to buy used/refurbished ones so at least you are not in current sales. And of course Apple’s best kept secret is discounted Certified/Refurbished section.

Don't forget in praising Welch, it was Welch’s Off-shoring jobs to India to settle the Union Carbide disaster that began the feel good to move more to Asia. Welch’s wantabees followed his path, the 14k goldplated road with Americas best... Thanks for your insight as always... 20/20 and right to the point, without rose colored glasses...

Excellent article. Cheap labor is the carrot. Stealing their technology is the stick and China laughs as they beat them.

BYD is a disaster and the Chinese people know it. Their cars are catching fire left and right and the company is telling people to stuff it when they try to get resolution. Take a look on YouTube there are several people reporting on it which is difficult as we all know how China controls any media. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px-tOdMvHQU

One of the most egregious transfers of comparative advantage to China was GE’s relocation of their X-Ray business to China in 2011.

This is possibly the most anti-American thing I have seen. GE moved R&D and manufacturing - i.e. everything in the X-Ray business. This move resulted in one of the largest technology transfers to the Chinese ever: all the X-Ray technologies, all GE’s advanced manufacturing technologies, all GE’s sourcing and logistics technologies, all GE’s management processes (theoretically the best in the world), etc.

And Immelt did this while he was Obama’s Jobs Czar. And the MSM barely gave it any notice.

Don’t need all those goods currently made in China, including basic prescription drugs?

Is that the excuse to never divest from China?

America is in it's death throes as it is, to continue on that path is to utterly destroy our country.

America can actually make it financially tortuous for the West to keep their company's in China or make it financially prosperous for them to bring their factories, etc., to US soil. Like Trump was doing during his first tenure with tax increases and incentives, respectively.

All that is required of Americans is to pay attention and vote accordingly.

Pointed and true. I wish more people realized Peter Navarro speaks the truth about communist China!

Excellent work. An important addendum to the Jeff Immelt incompetence is the United States Government subsidized the GM transition to the CCP. We paid for our own economic destruction. Miles Guo organization has a video of Xi taking Bill Gates to the woodshed; CCP will disappear all the American traitors when CCP no longer need them. Has Elon Musk finally realized the CCP is evil? He has recently made surprising statements that conflict with CCP policy objectives. Perhaps he has had a political Road to Damascus revelation or perhaps he is still dedicated to AI and the creation of his "computer God" and "eternal life".

Would we trade with Nazi Germany?

Then why the hell are we trading with China. Greed my friend is the only answer.

If you have money in the stock market you are feeding the beast.

Cut China loose. All products should be American made.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Berkshire Hathaway is one of the largest shareholders of Boyd . Jack Welch was a fraud, turned GE into a P/E hedge fund. Everyone should read about the Thirty Tyrants in Tablet Magazine from 3 years ago.. Remember it’s one big club and we aren’t in it
