I thought that the West loved its high tech stuff. It would seem many college campus engineering students could put together a series of remote controlled little rovers inexpensively to go down into the tunnels and start mapping them. Once they get enough of a sector mapped, they send in larger rovers with ordnance and pick junction points to explode. Maybe this is why things are taking longer? Part of the problem is our military industrial complex likes expensive things where we can only get a limited number due to cost, versus some more cheap items we can use in a 'volume' solution. The first order of business would be knocking out all tunnels along the actual border, out to about 300 yards from the walls. Then go next layer out. At the same time, move inhabitants into controlled areas until the next sector is done. Rinse and repeat. Will take months or more at least. BUt no other way if they want to limit loss of life.

I voted not sure about "Do you believe the Gaza tunnels must be destroyed to achieve peace and security for Israel?" because, though I believe the tunnels need be destroyed, that won't secure peace for Israel. Gaza has allowed its employment rate to fall to 50% which makes for great recruiting grounds for Hamas amongst all those young people. Tunnels or not, that makes for a lot of young cannon fodder that has been taught that all their problems would be solved if Israel was destroyed. This scenario was baked into way Israel was created as a state by the European plans from the beginning of the 20th century, and exasperated by the attempts to force ceasefires and artificial "peace" for all my life time of 72 years.
